A Review of the Asus RT-AX92U Shows It to Be an Effective and Adorable Little Odd One Out of AiMesh
There are two reasons why the Asus RT-AX92U, which was initially released in the middle of 2019, is a compelling case. The first time you encounter it is during the upgrade from Wi-Fi 5 to Wi-Fi 6, when it is present. And in the second place, I examined it in depth twice.

It is a scaled-down model of the GT-AX11000 and has the appearance of a small square box with four antennas perched atop it. The box has a width of 6.1 inches (15.5 centimetres) and a height of a couple of inches (5.5 centimetres).
You can collapse these antennas on top of the router to make the whole thing look even cuter, or you can raise these antennas upward to improve the coverage they provide. In either case, the router is functional. By the way, the fact that the router can be mounted on the wall is an extremely convenient feature.

A miniature powerhouse with three bands.
Despite having a very small physical footprint, the router has the usual configuration of one Gigabit WAN port and four Gigabit LAN ports. It even has space for two USB ports, so you can connect storage devices, printers, or even a cellular modem to it.
Although the router does not have any multi-gig ports, it does support Link Aggregation on both the WAN and LAN sides and Dual-WAN connectivity. The first one allows you to combine two ports into a connection that is capable of 2 Gigabits per second, and the second one allows you to convert one of its LAN ports or a USB port into a second WAN connection.
The Asus RT-AX92U may be a tri-band router with unusual specifications if one were to take a look inside the device. This device is a broadcaster that features a 2×2 Wi-Fi 5 band, a 4×4 Wi-Fi 6 band at 5GHz, and a 2×2 Wi-Fi 4 band at 2.4GHz.
Whenever you use it as a single router, the Smart Connect feature will combine all of these bands into one. In that case, you have the option of giving each a unique SSID (Wi-Fi network).
The processing power of the router is provided by a dual-core processor operating at 1.8 GHz, 512 MB of random access memory (RAM), and 256 MB of non-volatile storage. Although it is not the most powerful router I’ve seen, the fact that it is so small belies the fact that it is quite an accomplishment.

To be more specific, current 2×2 Wi-Fi 6 clients can anticipate attaching at 2.4Gbps when using a single router, whereas 4×4 Wi-Fi 5 clients can achieve up to 1.73Gbps. When operating as a mesh, the maximum speed that any wireless client can achieve is 867 Mbps. These are theoretical speeds, and in practise, sustained rates will vary from one situation to another.
The traditional method of configuration, settings, and features
The Asus RT-AX92U is, at its most fundamental level, identical to other routers manufactured by Asus. You can configure it by using the Asus Router mobile app or by accessing its web interface.
The earlier method, which requires first connecting a computer to it and then launching a browser, is the one I favour more. After that, you will immediately be taken to the initial setup wizard, which will guide you through the process of setting up the programme.

The Asus RT-AX92U has an identical collection of network configuration options and features to those found on other Asus routers, as well as an identical web interface.

Not a true Wi-Fi 6 mesh router, the Asus RT-AX92U
The RT-AX92U is not quite the same thing as a mesh network, despite the fact that it functions quite simply as a standalone router. Another reason for this is that it dedicates its one and only Wi-Fi 6 band, which is the 5GHz-2 band, because it has a dedicated backhaul.
A Wi-Fi 5 mesh network at its very foundation
