How to connect a PS4 controller to your PC via a USB cable or Bluetooth

A micro-USB cable or Bluetooth wireless technology can be used to connect a PlayStation 4 controller to a personal computer.
You can connect to your personal computer using Steam or the DS4 Windows Utility if you have a USB.
If your personal computer has Bluetooth capabilities, you will be able to wirelessly pair and connect your controller.

How to use a USB cable to connect a PlayStation 4 controller to a computer

You have the choice between using Steam or the DS4 Windows Utility if you want to connect your PlayStation 4 controller to your computer using a micro-USB cable (this is the same cable that you use to charge the controller).

5. Connect the controller for the PlayStation 4 to your computer using the micro-USB cable. Be certain that the backlight on the controller is lit up so that it can serve as an indication that there is a connection.

1. Press the Windows key plus the letter Q on your keyboard to immediately open the search menu on your personal computer, then search for “Bluetooth.”

2. Select Bluetooth and the settings for any other devices that you have from the list of search results.

3. To enable Bluetooth on your computer, locate the switch that is labelled Bluetooth and make sure it is set to the On position.

4. On your controller, press and hold the Playstation button in addition to the Share button until the backlight begins to blink.

5. On your personal computer, select Bluetooth after clicking the Add Bluetooth or other device button.

6. You will notice that the PS4 controller you are using is referred to as a Wireless Controller. Simply clicking it will complete the connection. Enter 0000 as the passcode if you are prompted for one.

Instructions on how to reattach the controller to the PS4 console
After using a PS4 controller with a PC, you will need to physically connect the controller to the PS4 console using a USB cable in order to reattach it to the console and continue using it.

After that, you need to press the button labelled PS on the controller. After you have completed these instructions, you will be able to use your controller without the necessity of a wired connection by removing the USB cable.
