$80 Wireless Earbuds

OnePlus just announced its own pair of $80 wireless earbuds — here’s what they’re like compared to Google’s $180 Pixel Buds

Which pair of wireless earbuds should you get? We compare the Google Pixel Buds and the OnePlus Buds.

In general, the battery life of the Google Pixel Buds and both of the OnePlus Buds is comparable. The charging case and the Buds, according to OnePlus, have a combined battery life of thirty hours when fully charged. That amounts to seven hours for the Buds, individually. If what OnePlus claims is true, the case should provide an additional 23 hours of battery charge for the phone.

I can tell you right now that even though the Pixel Buds are superior to the OnePlus Buds, you still need to keep in mind the price tag associated with them. Check out the following comparison between the Google Pixel Buds and the OnePlus Buds to determine whether it is more beneficial to spend an additional $100 or save it:

The differences between the Google Pixel Buds and the OnePlus Buds are explained here.

“Those ain’t it if they don’t fit,” is a phrase that can be used in a sentence.

My listening experience with the OnePlus Buds was undoubtedly impacted to a significant degree by the fit of the headphones. It needs to highlight the reasons why you want to know if the OnePlus Buds will match before you purchase them. If you have previously found that Apple’s EarPods or AirPods fit you properly, there is a good chance that the OnePlus Buds will also fit properly and sound adequately for you. It is important to keep in mind that the OnePlus Buds are a touch bigger than both the AirPods and the EarPods.

There is no clear winner when it comes to determining which pair of earbuds is superior for Android users: either the OnePlus Buds or the Google Pixel Buds come highly recommended. It all comes down to how much of an investment you are willing to make. The price of the OnePlus Buds is $79, while the price of Google’s Pixel Buds is $179, which is exactly $100 more. In this instance, you are receiving the benefits associated with your purchase, as you will see in the following paragraphs.

Google asserts that the Pixel Buds and the case each keep a charge for 24 hours, for a combined total of 29 hours of battery life.

The OnePlus Buds have a stem, just like Apple’s AirPods do, which is another similarity between the two products.

The songs that I listened to include “Pneuma” by Tool, “Your House” by Steel Pulse, “Drip” by CloZee, “Nevermind” by Dennis Lloyd, and “Catching Plays” by Destructo, in addition to a large number of other tracks spanning a wide variety of musical genres.

Some features, such as updates for your Buds, support for Dolby Atmos for sound, and touch sensor control customization that is supposedly superior, will be exclusive to the OnePlus 7, the OnePlus 6, and the OnePlus 8 show. These features include: In practise, this indicates that purchasers of the OnePlus 8, OnePlus 7, and OnePlus 6 will have access to the majority and the best features of the OnePlus Buds. The allure of the OnePlus Buds is lessened if you do not use those OnePlus mobile models because you are not getting the most out of what they have to offer.

Earbuds for Android users are increasing in variety, which is ironic considering how cocky iPhone purchasers can be about the quality of their AirPods.

When compared to the OnePlus Buds, the Pixel Buds come with a higher price tag but offer superior sound quality. This is to be expected given the higher price of the Pixel Buds. It is important for me to mention that the Pixel Buds, which I, along with several other reviews, have experienced, produce a very faint hissing sound in the background that is only really noticeable when playing audio.

If you are looking into wireless earbuds that are affordable and fall within the price range of less than one hundred dollars, I would also recommend that you look into the Cambridge Audio Melomania 1, which is our top pick for earbuds in general.

The Pixel Buds are Google’s own direct response to Apple’s groundbreaking wireless earbuds, and they are available now. The second time around proved to be more successful than the first, and now these are almost ideal, despite some reservations. You are able to read the comprehensive review of Pixel Buds.

As soon as I laid eyes on the OnePlus Buds, I was aware that they would not fit properly or look good in my ears. This is due to the fact that their design is virtually identical, albeit slightly more significant, to that of Apple’s EarPods stayed or AirPods, neither of which have been able to stay put in my ears. Ever.

The quality of the sound is significantly enhanced whenever I manually insert the Buds into my ears in an attempt to replicate a snug fit. Although there is a lack of mids, which robs the music I listened to of its soundstage, the sound quality is very good overall. The OnePlus Buds are adequate wireless earbuds that retail for $79 and come with a number of other important features (some of which are discussed further down).

On the other hand, Google’s Pixel Buds are comparable to Apple’s AirPods Guru in that they feature an in-ear design that provides a more secure fit than Apple’s AirPods do, in addition to the fact that they do not fall out of my ears. They come with three different sizes of rubber tips so that you can get a customised fit. The Google Pixel Buds have a design that fits more securely in the ear, which enables them to reduce sound more effectively than the OnePlus Buds, which have no effect on background noise.

In addition to that, there are the OnePlus Buds. The OnePlus Buds are what you’d get if the Apple AirPods and the Google Pixel Buds had a baby and the baby was designed by OnePlus.

When deciding between the Google Pixel Buds and the OnePlus Buds, the decision isn’t too difficult to make. First things first, you’ll need to determine whether or not you’re willing to spend up to $179 on the Pixel Buds. Invest in the Pixel Buds because they are more aesthetically pleasing, sound better (if that’s even possible), and match your device more closely.

With that being said, a lot of people find that the AirPods and Apple’s EarPods fit them just fine. In addition, the OnePlus Buds are likely to be a good fit for them. However, you have never been successful using earbuds of that kind before. The OnePlus Buds do not come with any interchangeable tips or anything else that would help me keep them in my ears, so if you are anything like me, you might as well forget they even exist.

It can be challenging to accurately monitor how long batteries last in real-world use. You still get a battery life that is comparable to that of both of the buds. That is to say, they can function normally for a satisfactory length of time before needing to be recharged. Both may also be charged for a short amount of time in their respective cases — approximately ten minutes — in order to receive a boost. As long as it delivers over 10W of power, OnePlus claims that its Buds can get more battery life out of a 10-minute emergency charge than other buds can.

The Google Pixel Buds are designed to fit snugly inside the ear and protrude only slightly, if at all.

Due to the fact that they do not properly fit in my ears, the OnePlus Buds have a shrill and hollow sound to me

The charging cases of the earbuds each have their own unique characteristics. The case for the Pixel Buds by Google has wireless charging, while the case for the OnePlus Buds does not have this feature.

If you are not willing to spend $179 on earbuds, the $79 OnePlus Buds may be a better option for you because they come with some of the same features as the more expensive $179 OnePlus Buds, including excellent battery life and resistance to sweat and water. However, the fact that the most recent OnePlus smartphones are the only ones that can take advantage of particular features like Dolby Atmos support and customizable controls is a major disadvantage for anyone who does not own a OnePlus smartphone.
